About
Tim Arvin / Architectural Photographer for Southeast US Construction & Architecture Firms
Early on I was inspired by the work of legendary landscape photographer Ansel Adams. While in college I bought a well used 8x10 view camera and spent summers in the field and darkroom learning the craft. Eventually I found my way to being a guest in Adams’s oceanfront home and studio in Carmel, California - a peak experience.
After receiving a master’s degree in microbiology from the University of Kentucky, I spent several years working in pharmaceutical R&D. I left the laboratory for the energy of New York City to work as an assistant architectural photographer for an extended period, immersed in the industry. As an independent architectural photographer for over 20 years, I have photographed projects throughout the US for multiple ENR Top 400 contractors, international architectural and design firms, and product manufacturers.
While I frequently shoot nationwide, my work focuses primarily on projects in the Southeast US. Based in Lexington, Kentucky and Atlanta, Georgia I am well positioned to serve clients throughout the region.
